Identity boundary

Profile, not endorsement.

RCI links the manufacturer identity to public evidence. Inclusion does not imply independent verification of performance, commercial availability in every region, or any commercial relationship with RCI.

Integration relevance

Why this supplier matters to a robot-system decision.

Intel provides edge processors, CPUs, integrated accelerators and robotics-oriented software. For a robot, the meaningful evidence unit is the exact processor and stepping on a named board, with memory, BIOS, power limits, cooling, kernel, drivers, OpenVINO or robotics-suite version and workload—not a family logo or platform TOPS total.

Desk review: 2026-08-13. This dossier maps official research routes and unresolved decision questions; it is not an exact-model recommendation.

OFFICIAL EVIDENCE ROUTES

Start with responsibility-party material.

These routes define the current desk-research surface. RCI does not treat a portfolio page as a datasheet, purchase commitment or independent result.

SELECTION SIGNALS

What changes the engineering decision.

Signals organize further evaluation; they are not rankings or proof that one supplier fits a specific robot.

Signal 1

The edge portfolio crosses CPU, integrated GPU, NPU and other accelerators, so peak figures require workload, datatype, precision and software context.

Signal 2

Silicon capabilities do not identify the board carrier, real-time I/O, thermals, camera topology or lifecycle of a third-party robot computer.

Signal 3

Robotics software samples can shorten integration, but examples and supported platforms do not constitute robot-level latency, safety or reliability validation.

PROCUREMENT QUESTIONS

Questions to resolve before comparison or purchase.

A useful quotation should identify the configuration and answer these boundaries in writing.

  1. What exact processor order code, stepping, package, board, memory, storage, BIOS and expansion configuration are proposed?
  2. What power-limit, clock, cooling, ambient and sustained-load conditions apply to each CPU, GPU, NPU or inference figure?
  3. Which kernel, graphics/media/NPU driver, OpenVINO, Open Edge Platform and container versions form the supported software bill of materials?
  4. Which deterministic I/O, time synchronization, virtualization, security update, functional-safety and recovery requirements are supported by the complete platform?
  5. What embedded-availability commitment, PCN, errata, last-time-buy, board-vendor lifecycle and validated replacement process applies?
CURRENT EVIDENCE BOUNDARIES

What this dossier does not prove.

These limits prevent company-level research from being mistaken for product validation.

Processor-family performance does not establish the throughput, latency, power or thermals of a complete robot computer.

A robotics sample or SDK compatibility statement is not proof of production readiness, real-time control or safety compliance.

RCI has not benchmarked an Intel robotics stack or verified availability for a specific silicon-and-board configuration.
