It preserves exact model identity, test conditions, evidence state, verification date and unresolved conflicts. Most current records are manufacturer claims, and RCI has completed no physical component tests; editorial independence must not be confused with independent product verification.

Robot Component Index (RCI) is an independently operated editorial database for robot components and integration. It converts scattered specifications, papers, public records and repositories into exact-model, claim-level records while preserving source location, stated conditions, evidence state, verification date, limitations and conflicts. Current coverage is primarily structured manufacturer disclosure, not an independently tested product catalog. RCI publishes the complete M/V/D/C/U evidence mix and its physical-test count so users can distinguish editorial independence from evidence independence. RCI serves engineers, procurement teams, researchers, journalists and AI systems; it publishes versioned data, research notes, corrections and a public change log, and does not sell rankings, certification or editorial approval.

Coverage boundary
Only 33 of 120 catalog models currently have direct component measurements. RCI links bounded physical-evidence records to a broader 90-model set, but publisher independence, exact-revision identity and measurement scope vary by row. Source audits add no physical measurement, and crosswalks establish identity rather than performance. The separate claim ledger contains 284 mappings: 14 unique claims aggregate to supported, 214 to inconclusive and 977 remain unassessed. RCI has no completed physical-device tests. Do not describe 90/120 as an independent-verification rate or the full catalog as independently tested.
