The direct answer
Where did the directory grow? All five additions are official manufacturer engineering release channels: Orbbec, Stereolabs, Hesai, ROBOTIS and NVIDIA Isaac ROS. The other eight source groups did not change.
What did the additions improve? They add five primary channels and five Atom-monitored release surfaces. Coverage rises by one channel for motion and actuation, four for perception and sensing, five for compute and control, and five for interfaces and integration.
What did not improve? Power and energy remains at 59 channels with nine direct monitors. The update adds no independent laboratory, accredited test source or blanket right to reproduce release pages, manuals, binaries, models, firmware or media.
RCI 038 remains an immutable 96-channel baseline. RCI 045 publishes the 96→101 delta instead of silently rewriting the earlier result.
Five additions, one common reason
Each new record exposes a manufacturer-maintained, versioned release surface with a direct Atom feed. That makes it useful for detecting compatibility, platform, protocol, firmware-recommendation and packaging changes before they are summarized by trade media.
| Channel | Coverage | Use class | Publication boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orbbec SDK v2 releases | perception-sensing, compute-control, interfaces-integration | ITEM_LICENSE | The repository exposes an MIT project license plus a restricted extension-library license; binaries, firmware, models, release prose and third-party files remain item-specific. |
| Stereolabs ZED SDK releases | perception-sensing, compute-control, interfaces-integration | ITEM_LICENSE | The repository code license does not automatically license installers, models, firmware, services, media or third-party dependencies. |
| Hesai LiDAR SDK 2.0 releases | perception-sensing, compute-control, interfaces-integration | ITEM_LICENSE | Modified-BSD repository code is distinct from calibration files, documentation, binaries, release assets and third-party dependencies. |
| ROBOTIS DynamixelSDK releases | motion-actuation, compute-control, interfaces-integration | ITEM_LICENSE | Apache-2.0 repository code does not establish exact actuator compatibility or license firmware, manuals, binaries and bundled dependencies. |
| NVIDIA Isaac ROS Common releases | perception-sensing, compute-control, interfaces-integration | ITEM_LICENSE | Apache-2.0 repository code is distinct from containers, CUDA or JetPack dependencies, models, binaries, documentation assets and hardware-support matrices. |
Coverage changes across the five first-stage layers
| Layer | Channels | Delta | Primary | Direct monitors |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motion & actuation | 61 → 62 | +1 | 41 → 42 | 10 → 11 |
| Perception & sensing | 73 → 77 | +4 | 51 → 55 | 15 → 19 |
| Compute & control | 93 → 98 | +5 | 66 → 71 | 16 → 21 |
| Power & energy | 59 → 59 | +0 | 38 → 38 | 9 → 9 |
| Interfaces & integration | 92 → 97 | +5 | 65 → 70 | 16 → 21 |
Layer counts overlap because one source can cover sensor data, compute support and integration at once. The five deltas therefore must not be summed into five unique-source totals.
All five additions stay item-specific
The only reuse-class change is ITEM_LICENSE, from 21 to 26 channels. This is deliberate: a repository license may cover RCI's reuse of upstream code under stated conditions while excluding release prose, documentation, binaries, firmware, models, calibration data, containers, images or third-party dependencies.
| Reuse class | Baseline | Current | Delta |
|---|---|---|---|
| OPEN | 8 | 8 | 0 |
| ITEM_LICENSE | 21 | 26 | +5 |
| FACTS | 40 | 40 | 0 |
| PERMISSION | 13 | 13 | 0 |
| LEAD | 14 | 14 | 0 |
152 endpoint observations, not 152 endorsements
The v0.1.5 bounded run observed 152 source, rights and monitor endpoints: 132 reachable, 15 automation-restricted, 0 explicitly broken and 5 other errors.
All five other-error records received manual review. Three were reachable through an independent HEAD check, one retained a certificate failure and one retained an access or automation failure. RCI removed no source, bypassed no TLS control and changed no rights class solely because of transport behavior.
Endpoint reachability is a dated transport observation, not a quality, authority, rights, independence, completeness or continuous-uptime score. Manual review did not bypass TLS or access controls.
Method and limits
RCI compared record IDs in immutable source-directory v0.1.2 and v0.1.5, recomputed group, coverage, primary, direct-monitor and reuse-class counts from v0.1.5 records, and joined the bounded v0.1.5 network audit with its five-record manual-review ledger. No source was promoted from a lead, no item-level license was generalized into blanket republication permission and no hardware claim was validated by this audit.
Highest completed work level: EV3 directory-delta recomputation. This is a reproducible comparison of published records, not a hardware, SDK, firmware or robot test.
- The directory is curated and operational; 101 channels is not a claim to enumerate every robotics source worldwide.
- Hardware-layer counts overlap because one channel may cover several layers and must not be summed into a unique total.
- Primary identifies the responsible source for its own release or product; it does not mean independent validation.
- ITEM_LICENSE requires checking the exact release, file, asset and third-party notices before reuse.
- The five additions improve manufacturer release monitoring but add no power-energy channel, independent laboratory or accredited-test source.
- RCI ran no hardware, firmware, SDK, robot or compatibility test for this directory delta.
